One time , MTV did a tv show called GameBrain. it was a guide for some new ps1 games , Abe's Oddysee was played too. But in a non-final version. here is the part cut from Kapteeni13 by full VHS video.
Under here there are some promotional/beta screens found on internet (from SgabbitGabbiar , me xD)

In this screen with the timed bombs there's also something strange, why Abe is in this screen, because in the released version of the game Abe has to walk to the right screen and then possess the slig, maybe the slig was placed in a different way ?
