Hi guys! I'm Dancio from Poland and I am big fan of old oddworld abe's series (dissapointed munch and new n tasty). I am such a big fan that I like to watch every new discovered/unused components in the game and I have to thank Kapteeni that he still discovers some things even not much people watching him. I would love to play Abe's Oddysee alhpa version (not demo) but I doubt taht we have ever occasion. Hope I will enjoy here!

Hi Dancio and welcome! Thanks for watching my videos and unused content. I agree too that it would be really amazing to play Abe's Oddysee in Alpha (Original title 'SoulStorm') if possible. So far little facts have been found like player was originally supposed to memorize the bell songs and play them to open doors. Lastly i must ask that what is your avatar?

It's quite funny.. because I had Oddworld Oddysee early beta (Or maybe prototype) a long ago and I Not even knew it was a beta. I think this because I remember I had to input the bell codes manually (while possessed and only in Scrabania for some reason) , one of the Scrabanian puzzles had two extra scrabs also most of the scrabanian puzzles are already solved (Closed door with lit torches the first time I entered the puzzle select room) and the boardroom level usually crashed while I moved to another screen if the timer reached 0:00, also I remembered some boardroom designs differently (It was around 12-14 years ago? I got a weak PC at the time with Abe's Oddysee and "Alice's Wonderland" (horror) installed on it.)

So the prototype was for PC or PS1 ? i don't understand. It's possible that both had prototypes and betas, also I'm almost sure that PC version had an early prototype too for debugging atleast, If you think about it , Oddworld Industries's game creating tool to export both PC and PS1 games and I wouldn't be surprised if they occosionally made test versions for both PC and PS1, multi-platform targetting requires tests on the targeted platforms (I had this experience while creating a game to android and PC, some PC features not worked as intendend in android version and vice-versa, so I had to use methods that work for both and test them on both devices) I'm pretty sure Oddworld Ind. used the same tool to create both games and usually exported "Prototype" , "Alpha" , "Beta" or whichever name fits them, now I seriouslly don't know how I got a beta on my 12-14 years old "used" PC. When I played Oddysee after I reinstalled it (after I bought a copy myself) I assumed the changes I experience are simply because "I not remember them correctly" but after seeing Kapteeni's videos about how the Oddysee Beta worked I remembered some of those things were matching my first Oddysee experience.

It is possible that you can share this? It depends... I still have the harddisc but its in bad shape.. I could try to recover it (If you guys want , I could even livestream my trying at it , lol) But I have nearly 0% success chance with recovering it, 5-7% chance if I think about it. I clearly remember that 20GB harddisc was the only one I used in that old computer, so yeah , if you guys seriously want I could try to recover it.. but even myself don't expect success.

Well... it's worth to try out even if it's 0% ~ 7% chance. Bell songs were manual as it appears as hint fly texts inside Abe's Oddysee Demo (SoulStorm)
